Cab Calloway : Swinging at his best. Concert. Cab Calloway was born on 25 December 1907. At 20, he was already an accomplished performer, a composer, a tap dancer and an indefatigable entertainer. In 1931, the hit "Minnie the Moocher" brought him world fame. During his long career, he worked with some of the greatest soloists: Dizzy Gillespie (trumpet), Doc Cheatham (trumpet), Ben Webster (saxophone), Milt Hinton (bass)... He died on 18 November 1994, aged 86.
